Edmund proves to us that '"even a traitor may mend". Yes he did betray his siblings but cut him some slack he was only ten. He was young and selfish, he just wanted to be somebody. Edmunds betrayal shaped him and made him the most loyal of the Pevensie children afterwards. This mix follows him through his desire to be somebody as a child to his guilt and shame as an adult.
