Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.

In the case of Ian Gallagher and Mickey Milkovich, they undoubtedly loved each other dearly but an unbalanced caused unrest, unrest caused confusion, complications left and right. In this universe maybe they just were not meant to be, some other time line.
