Rap is so much deeper than ringtones and making it rain. It's a culture, it's a lifestyle, it's rhythmic vocals over rhythmic percussion. For the last five years I've made it my mission to introduce my non-rap-listening friends to this deeper world in an effort to spread what the genre should be, as opposed to what the radio limits it to being. I've been using creatively unusual beats, lyrics, flows and ideas to get my point across, and if you'd like to hear my vision of REAL rap, have a listen to one of my mixes. I do appreciate a good party jam, but my point is that rap is more than just that- it's poetry for the common man. So here it is: good rap for non-rap (and real rap) fans.
