As with Let it ride, Caribbean stud is played on a Blackjack-like table. Apart from the fact that you play against the dealer’s hand and not against other players, Caribbean stud is otherwise very similar to five-card stud.

You have two opportunities to place a bet on your hand, and you may also make an optional side bet to win the progressive jackpot.

Although simple to learn, because you are not competing against other players, bluffing and other playing strategies used in stud Poker are of no value in Caribbean stud.

To win in Caribbean stud, you must get a better hand than the dealer. If you do, and the dealer has a qualifying hand, your next goal should be to get hand string enough to qualify for the basic bonus.

For the dealers hand to qualify it must contain at least an ace and a king. If you invest £1 in the progressive jackpot, at least a flush is needed to qualify. Once initial bets have been placed in the ante box the game begins.

Caribbean stud is played on a table that is very similar to a Blackjack table and is usually located in or near the Blackjack area. Each player position has two betting spots and a slot. The spot nearest the dealer is marked ANTE, and is where the initial bets should be placed. The second spot is marked BET. After your viewing the hand you have been dealt, if you decide you wish to play, this is where you should place your bets. If you wish to bet in the progressive jackpot, a £1 chip should be placed in the progressive slot located above the two betting spots.
